Slow Spin Dynamics in Non-Fermi-Liquid UCu5−xPdx, x = 1.0 and 1.5
Low-temperature muon spin-lattice relaxation measurements in the non-Fermiliquid heavy-fermion alloys UCu5−xPdx, x = 1.0 and 1.5, indicate inhomogeneously distributed f -electron spin fluctuation rates, and exhibit a time-field scaling of the muon relaxation function indicative of long-lived spin correlations. In UCu4Pd the scaling exponent γ is small and temperature independent. In UCu3.5Pd1.5...

It is a common knowledge that the formation of electron pairs is a necessary ingredient of any theoretical work describing superconductivity. Thus, finding the mechanism of the formation of the electron pairs is of utmost importance. There are some experiments on high transition temperature superconductors which support the electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions as the pairing mechanism (ARPES),...
متن کاملNonequilibrium dynamics of anisotropic large spins in the kondo regime: time-dependent numerical renormalization group analysis.
We investigate the time-dependent Kondo effect in a single-molecule magnet (SMM) strongly coupled to metallic electrodes. Describing the SMM by a Kondo model with large spin S>1/2, we analyze the underscreening of the local moment and the effect of anisotropy terms on the relaxation dynamics of the magnetization. Underscreening by single-channel Kondo processes leads to a logarithmically slow r...
متن کاملSpin-lattice relaxation rate of a magnetic impuritiy in the spin degenerate Anderson model
The renormalization group formalism was applied to calculate the spinlattice relaxation rate T 1 of a well-defined magnetic moment in the neighborhood of a spin degenerate Anderson impurity. In the Kondo regime, T 1 in function of the temperature T presents a peak at the Kondo temperature Tk; for T ≪ Tk, the system behaves as a heavy Fermy liquid, with an enhanced density of states, which incre...
متن کاملWeak quasistatic magnetism in the frustrated Kondo lattice Pr2Ir2O7
Muon spin relaxation experiments have been performed in the pyrochlore iridate Pr2Ir2O7 for temperatures in the range 0.025– 250 K. Kubo-Toyabe relaxation functions are observed up to & 200 K, indicating static magnetism over this temperature range. The T → 0 static muon spin relaxation rate ∆(0) ≈ 8 μs implies a weak quasistatic moment (∼0.1μB). The temperature dependence of ∆ is highly non-me...
